Laurel Man Arrested for Armed Cocaine Trafficking

On Wednesday, members from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Narcotics Enforcement Team, and SWAT served an arrest warrant on 41-year-old Eddie L. Outing, DOB 9/21/84, for Armed Trafficking in Cocaine stemming from a 2025 SCSO investigation. Outing was taken into custody at his Laurel residence following a brief period and without incident.

Outing is no stranger to local law enforcement. Over the past 20 years, he has been arrested 37 times for offenses ranging from burglary and aggravated assault to cocaine and marijuana possession, and driving under the influence.

The successful apprehension of a wanted individual facing a serious armed drug-trafficking charge is another example of the coordinated efforts of SCSO units to locate and safely take dangerous offenders into custody. With Outing off the streets and behind bars, our community is safer today.
