No injuries after garage, RV go up in flames in Port Charlotte

At 2:31 p.m. today, Charlotte County Fire & EMS was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Sansedro Street in Port Charlotte.
 
While en route, crews could see a column of smoke in the distance. When Engine 2 arrived on scene, firefighters encountered an RV fully engulfed in flames, with the fire extending into the attached garage of the home.
 
Crews immediately began working to extinguish the fire and were able to contain the fire inside the home to the garage, preventing it from spreading into the living areas.
 
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no residents were injuried.
 
Following an investigation, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
 
Responding Units: Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 2, Medic 2, Rescue 1, Support 1, Battalion 2, Battalion 3, FP 1 & FP 4.
