North Port man arrested after a suspected drug deal turned into a robbery

On July 6, at approximately 9 p.m., North Port Police officers responded to the area of Citizens Parkway and Creighton Creek Lane for what was initially reported as a disturbance. Officers determined the incident stemmed from a drug deal that turned into a robbery.
 
Officers located two suspects in the area. Detectives identified them as 24-year-old James Gordon Wilson III and a juvenile male. Both were arrested and charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching and Battery on a Person 65 Years of Age or Older.
 
We will not tolerate buying or selling illegal drugs in North Port. Fortunately, this incident didn’t end even worse.
