Rosette Pierrecius, 32, who was arrested on May 10, 2026, following the drowning death of her child, has been charged by the State Attorney’s Office with Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child, a first-degree felony. Pierrecius was originally arrested for Child Neglect Causing Great Bodily Harm.

** Detectives are seeking additional witnesses who attended the May 9, 2026, pool party at the Kendall Ridge Apartment complex, located at 302 26th Ave. W., or those who were in the vicinity of the pool that evening. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Gates at brian.gates@bradentonpd.com. **

📰 MORE INFO: According to the investigation, Pierrecius brought her 4-year-old daughter, who could not swim, to the pool party. Although the pool closed at dusk, several partygoers remained in the pool area. Approximately two hours after arriving, Pierrecius left her child unattended near the pool. The child entered the water, slipped beneath the surface, and remained at the bottom of the pool for approximately nine minutes before being discovered.

Officers were dispatched to the apartment complex at 9:10 p.m. and arrived within three minutes. They immediately began CPR, and EMS transported the child to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Pierrecius admitted to detectives that she consumed six Corona beers at the party. She also told officers she briefly left the child in the care of others while she went to the restroom. However, CCTV footage indicated that Pierrecius was away from the pool area for several minutes and, upon returning, was using her phone and socializing.

Pierrecius remains in custody at the Manatee County jail.
