Sarasota man kills girlfriend, 6-year-old son & dog during family pool day: SCSO – Wfla

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives have charged 34-year-old Nicholas Novickis, with two counts of Second-Degree Murder and one count of Animal Cruelty in relation to a shooting that occurred Saturday, May 23, at a residence in the Artistry neighborhood in Sarasota.
 
Deputies first responded to a reported shooting at 4707 Mondrian Ct. around 11:38 a.m. When deputies arrived on scene, they made entry to the residence and found Novickis in the kitchen where he was taken into custody without incident. Novickis’ 34-year-old girlfriend, Allie Novickis, and his 6-year-old son, Phoenix Novickis, were found deceased within the residence. The family dog was also shot and transferred to an emergency veterinarian hospital and was later pronounced deceased. At this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
 
Novickis is currently being held in the Sarasota County Correctional Facility with no bond.
