Crews battle and extinguish house fire in Punta Gorda Sunday night

At 9:31 p.m., Charlotte County Fire & EMS was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Roanoke Circle in Punta Gorda.

 

Battalion 1 arrived to find a one-story modular home with smoke showing from three sides of the structure. Crews initiated an offensive attack and located fire on the patio, extending into the home through the roof and into the attic space. The fire was brought under control, and overhaul operations followed.

 

There were no injuries. The cause remains undetermined. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.

 

Responding units: Engine 5, Engine 6, Engine 7, Engine 16, Rescue 31, Rescue 32, Battalion 1, Battalion 2, Support 1, County Fire Marshal, FP 7, and mutual aid from the City of Punta Gorda Fire Department.
