Man arrested in Venice for trafficking in meth at the 300 block of Miami Avenue

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Venice Police Special Investigations and Day Shift officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Miami Avenue. The driver, identified as Ashley Dietz (DOB 01/09/1983), was arrested for driving while license suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed drug paraphernalia, and an inventory search of the vehicle located approximately 17.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine. A field test confirmed the substance as methamphetamine. Ashley Dietz was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine (14 grams or more), Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and DWLS (second offense), and transported to the Sarasota County Jail.
