It’s an event we look forward to every year – Shop with a Cop! 
2022 marked the 11th year the event has been held.
2022 marked the 11th year the event has been held.
The Sarasota Housing Authority (SHA), Sarasota Police Department, Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT), Community Foundation of Sarasota, Communities Unified, Gary Dornbush, First Horizon Foundation, United Universalist Social Justice Committee, Knights of the Eagle Widows Sons Riders, and other private donors partnered together to provide 150 children with a unique holiday experience to ‘Shop with a Cop’ for holiday gifts at Target in Sarasota.
‘Shop with a Cop’ partners children and their families with Sarasota Police Officers, Civilians, Retirees, and their families, along with Officers from the Sarasota County Schools Police, to shop for holiday gifts.
SHA and its partners raised more than $17,000 for this event through its 501c3 affiliate Sarasota Housing Funding Corporation.
