Venice: Damaged Intracoastal Waterway bank and the Venetian Waterway Park are repaired

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) have completed restoration of the Hurricane Ian damage to the Intracoastal Waterway bank and the Venetian Waterway Park (VWP) trail near Venice Airport. See photos below of the work, along with a “before” aerial photo taken Oct. 4.

Depending on material availability, DeJonge Excavating will begin trail installation as early as next week. The trail will be reopened for use once the sidewalk is installed and can support use. Please do not enter the work area to avoid disturbing the soil preparation.
