As we head into Thanksgiving week, please remember that hurricane debris collection will be suspended at noon Tuesday to give crews a chance to head home for the holiday. Hurricane debris collection will resume on Monday, Nov. 28. A few other notes as we head into the week:
Solid Waste will not be collecting garbage, recycling, or yard waste on Thursday due to Thanksgiving. Thursday’s collection will take place on Friday, and Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday.
Beginning on Monday, Nov. 28, Solid Waste will resume accepting bulk pickups scheduling requests for non-Hurricane Ian-related material. These pickups can be scheduled by calling Public Works Customer Service at 941-240-8050.
To ensure the safety of your property, please make sure your debris piles are not placed next to obstacles like mailboxes, power poles or lines, or your backflow equipment.
