Sarasota Police Department Launches Agency Website Redesign

Francesco Abbruzzino, The Uncensored Report, LLC

Sarasota Police Department is proud to announce the redesign of the agency website, www.sarasotapd.org

The new design offers a modern, more user-friendly, and mobile-optimized layout. The redesign provides a virtual front desk where users have direct access to make public records requests, find information about red light cameras, and learn various crime prevention tips.

The virtual front desk feature on the home page also offers an online reporting portal where users can file a police report online for harassing phone calls/texts/emails, identify theft, lost property, theft, and vandalism. In addition to submitting a police report online, citizens can submit a report via a self-service kiosk located in the lobby of the Sarasota Police Department. Additional kiosks will be at Sarasota City Hall and the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex in the upcoming weeks.

The redesign of the Sarasota Police Department website offers a sub-site for recruitment where citizens interested in applying to become police officers or joining the agency in a civilian capacity can learn additional information. The recruiting sub-site highlights the steps to becoming a Sarasota Police officer, training, and information about the City of Sarasota.

The Sarasota Police Department appreciates the Digital Video Technology class at Manatee Technical College, which created the highlight video reel at the top of the website. Instructor Christy Oshana and several students spent weeks shooting and editing videos highlighting the Sarasota Police Department members in and around the City of Sarasota at notable landmarks.
