We responded to a boat fire just after 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Riviera Marina on Deltona Drive in Punta Gorda. The call quickly changed to multiple boats on fire. We sent multiple fire engines and had mutual aid assistance from PGFD who sent their fire boat.
 
Due to all the emergency equipment on the scene, access to the Riviera Bar and Grill was shut down for several hours.
An estimated seven to nine boats were affected or destroyed. We terminated command a little before 5 pm after the fire was out. Our Fire Marshal was on the scene investigating with DEP and the Coast Guard who were trying to ensure the fuel and oil spills caused by the burning boats were contained.
