HAPPY NEWS!! The loggerhead sea turtle our Marine Unit helped rescue several months ago was today released back into gulf waters! “Joyce,” nicknamed after Venice Police Officer Paul Joyce who was the first trained responder on scene, was rescued on March 27 near the Venice Fishing Pier and transported to Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquariumfor rehab. After making a full recovery, she was released off of Casey Key this morning. Good luck Joyce!
