Justices Gorsuch & Sotomayor Join Forces To Rebuke NPR’s Fake News Mask Fight Hit Piece

Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Neil Gorsuch rebuked a report by NPR claiming the two justices feuded over wearing COVID masks on the bench.

 

The Justices refuted NPR on Wednesday in statement, calling its reporting that Sotomayor asked Gorsuch to wear a mask out of respect for her pre-existing condition “false.”

“Reporting that Justice Sotomayor asked Justice Gorsuch to wear a mask surprised us. It is false. While we may sometimes disagree about the law, we are warm colleagues and friends,” the Justices stated.

 

 

Chief Justice John Roberts released a similar statement rebuking NPR’s reporting.

 

 

Additionally, Fox News anchor Shannon Bream reported that a SCOTUS source confirmed that the story was false, noting that all Justices received the COVID injection and the booster and are regularly tested.

 

“A source at the Supreme Court says there has been no blanket admonition or request from Chief Justice Roberts that the other Justices begin wearing masks to arguments. The source further stated Justice Sotomayor did not make any such request to Justice Gorsuch. I’m told, given that fact, there was also no refusal by Justice Gorsuch.” reported Bream. “The justices are all vaccinated and boosted and they do test before taking the bench for arguments.”

NPR had reported Tuesday that Sotomayor felt unsafe around other Justices, most notably Justice Gorsuch because he didn’t wear a mask.

 

“They all did. Except Gorsuch, who, as it happens, sits next to Sotomayor on the bench,” NPR’s Nina Totenberg wrote. “His continued refusal since then has also meant that Sotomayor has not attended the justices’ weekly conference in person, joining instead by telephone,” wrote Totenberg, who goes on to state that Gorsuch’s repeated refusal to mask up has prompted Sotomayor to work remotely, out of the office.”

 

This marks a humiliating blow for NPR and the fake news corporate media as a whole, who ran with NPR’s story without corroborating its reporting.
