Suncoast: MCSO Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 33-year-old man

At around 8 pm on 01/18/22 the victim, a witness and the suspect went out for a drive. At some point in their travels, the victim and suspect began arguing and according to the witness, the suspect shot the victim in the vehicle they were driving in, at the Circle K at 904 30th Ave E., Bradenton.

The victim’s body was left on the side of the road at 214 77th St E, in Palmetto, FL where deputies later located the victim and secured that scene. The suspect and witness eventually went back to their home at 313 21st Ave W.(in the city of Bradenton) where the suspect passed out on the couch

At approximately 3:40 am family members called 911 out of concern that the victim had not returned home and Bradenton Police alerted of the earlier events by the witness.

The family members who all reside at this address were able to exit the house safely while the suspect remained inside. The residence was secured and deputies made announcements for the suspect to surrender. Just before The MCSO SWAT team arrived, the suspect came out of the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.

Probable cause was developed to arrest the suspect based on witness statements and other evidence. The exact charges and further information on the possible motive will be released later.
