An individual fatally struck a pedestrian trying to cross 41 Sunday night in Sarasota

A pedestrian was struck by a van while trying to cross 41 in Sarasota. The incident occurred near the Sarasota Mall. Around 8 at night. The van was being driven by a man out of Venice, his identity is not known at this time. The individual from Sarasota was pronounced dead at the scene.
