Plane down in the Venice Lake Golf Club parking lot

Shortly before 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 9, a Cessna 172 flying above Venice carrying 2 people experienced engine trouble. The pilot was able to put the plane on the ground at Lake Venice Golf Club, 1801 Harbor Dr. S., west of Venice Municipal Airport. The Cessna came to rest upside-down.
Venice Police, Fire Rescue and Airport staff responded. No injuries reported for either occupant. The FAA has been notified.
