Incident Description
Utility on call staff responded to the report of manholes overflowing outside the Linwood Master Lift station. Initial investigation revealed that a malfunction with one of the lift station pumps caused the main circuit breaker for the station to fault, interrupting power to the station. Crews were able to isolate the faulty pump and reset the breaker, restoring power to the station. The remaining two pumps are able to maintain normal operation in the lift station. Approximately 4,000 gallons of sewage spilled during the event and made its way to the canal behind the lift station. No recovery was possible. Sampling has begun on the canal. Notification and cleanup are proceeding per protocol.
