Sarasota Police Officers Remove Derelict Boat from Sarasota Bayfront

We know many of you asked us what happened on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the Sarasota Bayfront. We removed a derelict boat near Harts Landing that washed up on the rocks.
During #Eta in November, the 33′ Carver cabin cruiser washed up and after multiple attempts by our officers to contact the owner, the owner eventually abandoned it. The owner could face charges for abandoning a vessel and repayment of the cost to remove it.
Great work by our Marine Patrol and Traffic Unit working with the salvage company to get the boat out safely!
