Thoughts on local Suncoast companies are trying to coerce employees into choosing between vaccinating or getting fired.

A friend of mine has been talking to me this week about an old age home that he works at, which first asked their workers to get the vaccine. They had little buyin, so they offered a financial incentive. That did not go well, so they sent out a letter essentially mandating the vaccine as a pre-requisite for employment.
They were all told that if they do not get vaccinated by June, they will not have a job at that facility. Also, the individual told them that they will never work in the healthcare industry again, if they do not get the vaccine. Not necessarily true, since I work in the healthcare industry and will not be getting the vaccine or mandating that my employees get it or get fired. I have never gotten the flu vaccine and I claimed a religious exemption for my daughters, when they attended school. My family subscribes to staying fit via working out and eating right, in addition to taking the right vitamins, supplements, and nutrients. ? So far, our health came into play when the entire family was hit by the covid virus. The impact upon us was the same as being hit by a light cold.
I know why am not getting vaccinated, but I was not sure why this individual and 70% of the people at the company were not getting vaccinated. He explained that there are to many unknowns and concern with testing process, prior to rolling it out. Also, they are seeing that several individuals are still getting the covid after both vaccine shots, that many are still mandating mask after the shots, and pushing social distancing after the shot. So, getting the shot really does not change anything at all and does not prevent individuals from contracting the virus. This particular person just works there to stay busy and will be quitting, versus being forced to vaccinate, when the timeline hits.
