MCSO
Mark Kramer (DOB: 2/10/1986), already in jail in Sarasota County, has been served with an arrest warrant for the 12/01/20 Armed Burglary to An Occupied Dwelling in the Summerfield Community of Lakewood Ranch.

On 12/30/20 Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives reached out to MCSO with a person of interest due to similarities they had on a case involving Mark Kramer. During their investigation a search warrant yielded a rifle that appeared to be the one in the video of the Lakewood Ranch Armed Burglary.

MCSO detectives met with Kramer in the Sarasota County Jail where he admitted to forcing his way into the screen lanai of a residence in the 6500 block of Summer Blossom Lane on 12/01/20. During his interview, Kramer told detectives that he always fantasized about being a police officer or being in the military, and says that he ingested narcotics that night giving him the courage to act out on his fantasy. Kramer says he drove through a Lakewood Ranch neighborhood and decided to sneak around as if he was on a mission. He also told detectives he had no intentions of stealing anything or committing further crimes. He also apologized for “scaring the community”.

Kramer remains in the Sarasota County Jail on No Bond.
