The latest information on Eta and the impact it may have on the Suncoast

Tropical-storm conditions associated with #Eta are expected over the Cayman Islands and Cuba tonight. Damaging tropical-storm-force winds are expected Sunday night, with hurricane-force winds possible, in the Florida Keys and portions of the southern Florida peninsula.

 

6 to 12 inches of rain, with isolated maximum totals of 18 inches are expected over portions of the central and southern Florida peninsula, including the Florida Keys. These rains could lead to areas of flash flooding through Tuesday morning.

 

 

A Storm Surge Watch has been issued for portions of South Florida and the Florida Keys for the possibility of a life-threatening storm surge. Storm Surge inundation as high as 2-4 ft above ground level is possible in that area. hurricanes.gov
