Freelance Writers: Submit your articles or scoop for distribution via The Uncensored Report (Scoop News)
I have been asked if I allow freelance writers on my site. Yes, by all means. If you are an aspiring writer, a journalist that is looking for sites to write for, or just someone that is out there and looking for a place to house their writings. The Uncensored Report, LLC may be the place for you.
Sorry, I barely make enough money to run the site, but as many people on the Suncoast will tell you, I have a very high engagement rate and The Scoop has become known as the go to place for local news and scoop. So, you may not get paid, but your body of work will get recognized.
The type of articles I am looking for:
- Articles covering local news stories or scoop. I do not edit articles, but I will put a notice that the work is independent of The Scoop, to avoid copyright issues. I state this because I remember a local paper “Gondolier” once accuse me of using the same word as them on an article covering the same issue and they stated that it was a copyright issue. Now that was the old ownership, but it taught me a lesson early on. Also, you have to be careful on photos and receive permission to post photos that are not yours. Or you can conduct a Google search under images and use the tools option to narrow the search down to “creative commons license” under the usage rights. Even with these you should include any attributes.
- For local news review my Scoop section. Between my Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instgram, and website the article will be available to close to 100,000 people. Engagement on the Scoop News FB page alone is 484.000.
- For national news review my national section I run a couple national pages, which are not large. Since Facebook shut down my page with over 700,000 fans, it has been a struggle to build the national pages.
- Articles of interest. Articles covering nutrition, diets, environment, over development, politics, and the list goes on. Same rules apply regarding copyright concerns.
If interested you can write your article and submit it to me either on my Scoop News Facebook email or [email protected]. Again, I will not edit your work and if I see a liability issue, I will contact you for suggested changes. Include your picture and attributes, to avoid copyright concerns. Lastly include all of your information that you want within the article, such as your website, email and anything else that feel is important.
