Venice Water Main Project Road Closures – WWSB

The City of Venice Water Main Replacement, Phase 6 project involves the installation of new water mains in road right-of-way to replace old water mains located in rear and side property easements, and replacement of some old water mains within the road right-of-way.
For the week of Oct. 19:
TAMPA AVE. W. (between Nokomis Ave. N. and N. Tamiami Trl.)
The contractor will be installing a water main crossing Tampa Ave. W. and along Calle del Mercade (Alley 50) to Nokomis Ave. N.
Tampa Ave. W. will be closed to traffic between Nokomis Ave. and N. Tamiami Trl. as well as the alley.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 22, until 4 p.m.
Please refer to the attached map for work locations and the traffic control plan. Motorists are to follow posted traffic control signs.
NOKOMIS AVE. N. (between Tampa Ave. W. and W. Venice Ave.)
Large equipment and machinery may be entering or exiting the alley way at Nokomis Ave. N. Please drive slowly, use caution, and watch out for pedestrians, workers and cyclists.
Motorists are to follow posted traffic control signs.
ROADWAY RESTORATION
Within the next two weeks, the same closure will be scheduled for the restoration of the roadway. Once it is scheduled, a notice will be provided.
