Drowning at Lido Beach prompts death investigation, Sarasota police say – wtsp

The Sarasota Police Department is conducting a death investigation following the drowning of an adult man tonight, Mon., Aug. 24. Detectives do not believe foul play was involved.
Sarasota Police officers responded to the 400 block of Benjamin Franklin Drive shortly before 7 p.m. The man was pulled to shore by bystanders and pronounced dead by Sarasota County Emergency Services personnel.
The investigation remains ongoing.
