Sarasota Police officers are investigating a shooting that took place at the Booker High School campus parking lot on Sat., July 18.
 
At this time, Sarasota Police can confirm that the shooting took place during a youth football event. This was not a school-sponsored event. The Sarasota County Schools Police Department and Booker High School are cooperating with officers in this investigation.

At approximately 2:20 p.m. Saturday, July 18, Sarasota Police officers responded to calls of gunshots at the Booker High School Campus parking lot.
 
At this time, there are no reported injuries. Officers have secured the scene.
 
No further updates are anticipated for today.
