The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section, with the assistance of the Venice Police Department (VPD), arrested 24-year-old Colby Moran, DOB 07/26/2001, in relation to a shooting that occurred in the 800 block of US-41 N. Bypass in Venice.
Moran was involved in a verbal argument with another male outside the Outlook Pub around 10:40 p.m. Sunday night. The situation escalated when both men armed themselves with guns. A VPD officer conducted a traffic stop on Moran’s vehicle several blocks from the incident and held him until deputies arrived.
