Flowers entered a plea of nolo contendere to home invasion robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The morning of March 3, 2023, Flowers, James Reid, and two other suspects entered a home in the 400 block of Cantabria Trail and held the homeowner at gunpoint. A woman and three children were also inside. The men stole jewelry, cash, and other items.
DNA collected at the scene linked Flowers to the crime. Detectives issued arrest warrants for Flowers in September 2023, and he was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in January 2024.
Flowers was sentenced to 10 years in the Department of Corrections for the home invasion robbery, and a minimum of three years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
James Reid was arrested for the Bradenton home invasion in April 2024, while in custody at the Pasco County jail. Reid was arrested in Pasco County in December 2023 for murder, attempted murder, and armed home invasion. There isn’t a trial date scheduled yet in Manatee County.
Detectives continue to work to identify the remaining two suspects. If you have information in this case, contact Detective Jay Gow at jay.gow@bradentonpd.com. Submit tips anonymously to manateecrimestoppers.com.
