Crimes against children are among the most heinous. Thanks to the tireless work of our Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) team, Raymond Teasdale of North Port was recently arrested and brought to justice for the sexual abuse of children.
An initial investigation into allegations prompted a member of our ICAC team, Detective Krystal Octtaviani, to dig deeper, uncovering additional sex crimes that had been committed in the past by Teasdale.
“There is no greater mission than protecting our children. Detective Octtaviani and the ICAC team’s dedication reflect what this department stands for: courage, compassion, and commitment to those who need us most. We have no room in our community for people like this. We will always fight to keep our children safe.” says Chief Todd Garrison
Teasdale is now in the Sarasota County Jail, facing the following charges:
– 37 counts of possessing and viewing child sexual abuse material
– 2 counts of possessing or viewing digitally created child sexual abuse material
– 1 count of criminal contempt of court
He also has two out-of-state warrants for past sex crimes.
If you suspect a child is in danger, please speak up. One call could save a life.
