Man arrested on second-degree murder charge after woman stabbed to death in Bradenton

The Bradenton Police Department has arrested a suspect in the homicide of Thania Fuenmayor.
 
On September 28, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a minor traffic accident in the 2100 block of 8th Ave E., Bradenton. On scene, officers found Fuenmayor, 44, lying outside of her SUV, suffering from extensive stab wounds. Despite emergency first aid by officers and EMS, Fuenmayor died at the scene.
BPD detectives and the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit responded to take over the investigation and recovered multiple items, including a knife.
 
During the ensuing investigation, detectives identified Francisco Ramos-Moradel, 69, as the suspect. Ramos-Moradel and Fuenmayor are acquaintances, and he lives about two blocks from the crime scene.
Ramos-Moradel was arrested for second-degree murder early this morning, with the assistance of the Tampa Police Department. He is in custody at the Hillsborough County jail, awaiting extradition to Manatee County.
