Suncoast man arrested after being caught on camera beating a puppy

The Bradenton Police Department arrested Christian Cuello, 30, for Animal Cruelty after he was caught on camera beating a 9-week-old puppy repeatedly.
 

Employees at Kava Social Club alerted a BPD officer, who was patrolling downtown Bradenton, about their concerns for the puppy’s welfare. They said several customers saw Cuello grabbing the puppy’s neck and striking the dog in the face, before leaving the business. Employees reviewed security cameras and provided BPD with multiple videos of Cuello abusing the dog. The officer recognized the dog and located its owner, who said she’d left the puppy in Cuello’s care.

 

BPD took the puppy to a veterinary hospital for examination – and took Cuello, who was on probation for an unrelated case, back to jail. The puppy is OK and was returned to its owner.
