North Port Police Detained Four Individuals for Trying to Steal Stanley Cups and More During Stealing Spree

This is so much bigger than a stolen Stanley Cup.
 
You may have noticed a police presence at the Cocoplum Shopping Center yesterday evening, around 5:30 p.m. Officers were called after reports of possible shoplifting involving four women associated with a gray Chevrolet Malibu.
 
Once on scene, officers located the suspects in different areas of the plaza. Their vehicle was found with stolen merchandise from multiple stores inside the Cocoplum shopping center and from other retailers outside of our jurisdiction. Surveillance footage showed the women working together, and several hundred dollars’ worth of items had been taken. Two suspects also had tools meant to bypass anti-theft devices.
 
All four individuals were arrested and face charges including:
Unlawful possession of anti-shoplifting device countermeasures within a retail premise
Criminal conspiracy
Felony petit theft
Petit theft

Tammie Denise Harrell, 48
Dale Wanella Connor, 52
Jessike Denise Bridges, 37
Unnamed Juvenile
 
Chief Todd Garrison stated: “We take these types of crimes very seriously. Do not bring your organized crime to North Port.”
 
Organized retail theft doesn’t just hurt stores, it impacts all of us by driving up costs and threatening the safety of our community. That’s why we will continue to take a strong stance to deter this type of crime.
