SCSO with various agencies apprehends a wanted fugitive

After extensive efforts by the SCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) deputies, United States Marshals Service, and various other agencies, wanted fugitive, Jacques Gentis, DOB 3-01-2004, has been captured.

 
On January 24, 2025, Gentis evaded deputies during the execution of an arrest warrant, sparking a months-long pursuit involving more than 10 search warrants, 25+ subpoenas, and numerous Crime Stopper tips. SCSO had 4 outstanding arrest warrants for armed burglary and shooting a missile into a structure. He also had 1 outstanding warrant in Charlotte County.
 
Before his capture on August 28, through continued efforts by SCSO FAU it was revealed that Gentis was in upstate New York following a vehicle sighting. He was apprehended without incident and being held in Yates County Jail before being returned to Florida.
