A Sarasota Capital Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested in Tennessee

WHITE PINE, Tenn – Eleazar Briones-Vega, 50, has been arrested in Tennessee in connection with a capital sexual battery case that happened in Sarasota in 2006.
The Sarasota Police Department, in partnership with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal Service Florida-Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force and Eastern Tennessee Smoky Mountains Task Force, arrested Briones-Vega on Thursday, Aug. 28, in White Pine, Tenn., without incident.
Briones-Vega was wanted on charges of capital sexual battery after the victim, who was under the age of 10 at the time, reported that he inappropriately touched her for three years before leaving Florida.
Briones-Vega is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center in Tennessee and is awaiting extradition to Florida.
