NPPD comes through in the pinch, fixing mailboxes that were subjected to a beat down last night

This morning, B Squad officers responded to two separate hit-and-run incidents on the 7800 block of Meroni Blvd. Both victims, who are elderly, woke up to find their mailboxes destroyed overnight.

While the investigation is ongoing, our officers didn’t stop at taking a report, they saw neighbors in need and stepped up without hesitation.

Knowing the residents couldn’t fix the damage on their own, the officers pooled their own money, bought new mailboxes and supplies, and personally installed both.

They didn’t do it for recognition or the mangos. They did it because helping people is what we do, whether it’s solving a crime or setting a post in concrete under the Florida sun.

At the end of the day, our duty goes beyond responding to emergencies. It’s about showing up with compassion, lending a hand when no one else can, and doing the right thing, every time.
