Crash on 75 illustrates why the move over law exist

On July 20 at 6:25 p.m., our crews responded to an accident on I-75 near mile marker 152 where a truck had flipped into water in the median. Thankfully, everyone inside was able to get out safely with no injuries.
But while a tow truck driver was working the scene, a second crash occurred, striking the tow truck. Two patients were transported by ground to Gulf Coast Medical Center, and another was taken to a local hospital.
This is why Florida’s Move Over Law exists. When you see emergency vehicles, tow trucks, or service vehicles on the side of the road, move over or slow down. It’s not just the law, it could be the matter of life and death.
Responding units: Rescue 32, Rescue 11, Rescue 6, Engine 7 and Battalion 1
