City of Sarasota to observe Independence Day

City of Sarasota, FL: City administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or yard waste pickup on Friday. Regular Friday pickup will take place on Saturday. For more information on garbage and recycling collection, contact the Solid Waste Division at 941-263-6170.

Parks and Recreation facilities including Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex, Lido Pool, Payne Park Tennis Center, and the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, along with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Box Office, will be closed.

The Bay Runner will operate regular hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., on July 4. The Bay Runner will turn around at the Lido Beach Pavilion July 5-6 to accommodate anticipated increased holiday traffic due to the holiday.

4^th of July Fireworks on the Bay: A July 4 celebration, co-sponsored by the City of Sarasota, will take place from 9-9:18 p.m. on Friday, July 4 at Bayfront Park, 5 Bayfront Drive. This is a free, family-friendly event that is open for the entire community to enjoy.
