Lightning strikes tree in Bradenton – WTSP

BPD: 
Around 3:45 p.m., we received a 911 call about a large tree that was struck by lightning near 1500 22nd St W. The bolt splintered the tree and sent chunks of its trunk flying for approximately one block! BPD is on scene while a tree service removes the damage. Fortunately, no one was hurt by the debris.
