The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has made an arrest in connection with a June 10 robbery at a convenience store on Honore Avenue in Sarasota.
On June 10 at 4:54 a.m., a 911 caller reported a convenience store robbery on Honore Avenue in Sarasota. The store cashier described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a mask and carrying an AR-15 rifle. He demanded money from the cashier and left the scene. Through further investigation, Denzel Alejandro Hernandez Cuevas, DOB: 08/26/2005, of Bradenton, was identified as a person of interest.
Later the same day, the Holmes Beach Police Department (HBPD) conducted a traffic stop and detained Cuevas, who was alone and driving the vehicle. SCSO issued an arrest warrant charging the suspect with armed robbery. He was transported to the Manatee County Jail.
This was a well-coordinated effort between SCSO Patrol and TAC Units, and the Criminal Investigations Section (CIS), with the assistance of HBPD and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. This is an ongoing investigation.
