Our Special Enforcement Team, along with other units, is cracking down on illegal activity in the Yorkshire area for good reason. During a recent operation there, we encountered makeshift gun ranges, trespassing, drug, and firearm violations.

One of the most notable:

A suspicious vehicle was stopped on Yorkshire Street for a traffic violation. Inside were six individuals with no ties to North Port. During the investigation, we found:
📷 Packaged illegal drugs for sale
📷 A confirmed stolen handgun
📷 A handgun with the serial number removed
📷 Another handgun with an extended magazine
📷 A .223 AR-style pistol
📷 A semi-automatic shotgun with stacked magazines

Two individuals were arrested. One was charged with grand theft of a firearm and possession with intent to sell, and another with possession of an altered firearm.

The Yorkshire area is not the Wild West. We will continue to be out in the area. Our residents deserve to live in a safe community, and we will continue to make sure all areas are as safe as possible.
