Officer-Involved Shooting – North Links Avenue in Sarasota

Earlier this morning, officers with the Sarasota Police Department responded to a call at a residence on North Links Avenue.
During the course of the response, an aggressive pit bull approached one of the officers. In an effort to ensure safety, the officer discharged their firearm toward the animal.
As with all officer-involved shootings, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has been notified and will conduct an independent investigation into the incident, in accordance with standard protocol.
