CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL — North Port Parks & Recreation invites the community to make waves and build essential swimming skills at a free, all-ages swim lesson as part of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Join us from 8 to 9 a.m. or 5 to 6 p.m. at the North Port Aquatic Center (6205 W. Price Blvd.).

This is an annual international event created by the World Waterpark Association that encourages children to learn to swim at hundreds of venues around the world on the same day, to help build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching swimming to prevent drowning. In addition to receiving a free swim lesson, attendees will have the chance to browse water safety resources and apply for swim lesson scholarships that are donated by local community partners, such as the Rotary Club of North Port Central.

“The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is a powerful reminder that teaching children to swim is the most effective way to prevent drowning. By participating in this initiative, we’re reinforcing our community’s commitment to water safety and lifelong swimming skills,” said Devon Poulos, Aquatics Manager. “We look forward to hosting this event each year and creating a fun, memorable day that will teach kids and their families in our community how to be safe in, on and around the water.”

Register today to be a part of World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at NorthPortFL.gov/WorldsLargestSwimLesson.  We look forward to breaking records this year!
