Arrest made in hit-and-run in Sarasota that killed 2 young kids, critically injured mom

Sarasota, FL  On February 10, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM, a traffic crash occurred on SR 683 (N. Washington Blvd) near 7th Street within the City of Sarasota. The incident involved a Lexus vehicle and a family that was crossing the roadway. The driver of the Lexus fled the scene, failing to render aid or contact 911.

Following a thorough investigation, Traffic Homicide Investigators, the Intelligence Unit, and the Real-Time Operations Center worked in coordination to locate the suspected vehicle and its driver.

 

The vehicle was recovered, and a search warrant was executed to confirm that evidence collected from the crash site matched the suspected vehicle.

 

The driver cooperated fully with investigators during the ongoing investigation. On March 3, 2025, Probable Cause was established to arrest the driver, (June Fenton), for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash Resulting in a Fatality (2 counts) and Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash Resulting in Serious Injury.

 

The driver, (June Fenton), was placed into custody and transported to the Sarasota County Jail, where she currently remains in custody.
