Sarasota Police Department Makes Arrest in Road Rage Shooting Incident

Sarasota, FL – March 3, 2025 – The Sarasota Police Department has arrested a suspect involved in a road rage shooting that occurred on February 25, 2025. At approximately 9:55 AM, a victim reported that an unknown individual in a black vehicle fired shots at her vehicle near the intersection of 4th Street and Osprey Avenue. The victim’s vehicle was struck several times by gunfire.

 

Following the incident, the Sarasota Police Department’s Real-Time Operation Center (ROC) and investigative detectives worked tirelessly to gather evidence and identify the suspect. Through their efforts, a suspect was quickly identified which led to an arrest.

 

On March 3, 2025, Antonio Alexander Salmeron, 21, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle. Salmeron’s actions are being thoroughly investigated, and the Sarasota Police Department is committed to ensuring justice is served.

 

“This is an example of effective collaboration and thorough investigative work,” said Sarasota Police Chief. “We are grateful for the efforts of our detectives and the ROC, which allowed us to identify and charge the suspect quickly.”
