The Sarasota Police Department continues to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on February 10, 2025, at North Washington Blvd. (U.S. 301) and 7th Street.

 

Through investigative techniques and numerous community tips, phone calls, and emails, the Sarasota Police Department has identified the suspected driver and vehicle involved. The suspected driver, an elderly woman from Sarasota, is cooperating with investigators as the case moves forward. Forensic testing will be conducted on the vehicle to confirm its involvement in the incident.

 

We recognize the emotional toll this tragedy has taken on the victim’s family and the community. The Sarasota Police Department asks for the public’s patience and respect for the family’s privacy during this difficult time as we continue our investigation.
