Is Black Lives Matter Protests – BrainPOP really showing up on computers when kids access the Sarasota County school internet?
** update **
Brain Pop does have a segments that cover Martin Luther King to Rosa Parks. However, once you get to grade 4, they cover “institutional racism and the fight against it” , with segments like “Black Lives matter protest”. In the video that apparently anonymous is talking about, they cover how blacks are more likely to be arrested or killed by a cop. You an view the video below. Also, below is a screen shot that an individual states she took, after seeing the brain pop material while accessing the school internet. Personally, I think teaching diversity is great, after all I am the son of immigrants out if Italia. However, I think what BLM’s actions surrounding the shooting of the two officers this weekend and other events over the past few months, should exclude them being a part of any program that teaches or has influence over our youth. – Francesco

Hi Frankie I would like to be anonymous on the situation. A couple of parents have brought to my attention that when they get on the Internet there’s a program called brain pop. And there’s a video of George Floyd and his daughter. As of the last city meeting the superintendent said he was pulling the contract he had to do more research on this. Us the parents were not notified that this curriculum had already started and was put on brain pop. We were wondering if you could find out any information for us. Thank you
The girl that posted this screen of what popped up on the screen while accessing the internet, wants to be Anonymous too. This just came up this morning when her kids were on the computer.
Screen shot taken a few minutes ago, BLM protest is on there!
