City of North Port welcomes new Economic Development Manager

CITY OF NORTH PORT, FL – The City of North Port has hired Michael Meerman as its new Economic Development Manager. With a proven track record of driving measurable results and fostering innovation, he brings extensive experience in strategic planning and execution to this role. His official first day is Jan. 27, 2025.

 

Meerman joins North Port after serving as the Director of Economic Development at CareerSource Suncoast for over seven years. He oversaw critical functions during his tenure, including business services, workforce training and veteran services.

 

“Michael brings critical skills that match North Port’s economic development needs,” said Development Services Director Alaina Ray. “His workforce development and business process management background positions him to help the city grow strategically.”

 

As North Port continues to emerge as an up-and-coming city, Meerman’s appointment shows a commitment to fostering economic growth, attracting new businesses and creating job opportunities for residents.
