Two juveniles were arrested after multiple vehicle thefts and burglaries in Babcock Ranch.

On January 5, 2025, Charlotte County deputies responded to a residence on Palmetto St. in Punta Gorda (Babcock Ranch) in reference to a stolen vehicle that occurred sometime in the evening prior. The vehicle was located a few doors down from her home, and when she retrieved it, she found that approximately 150 miles worth of gasoline had been used and the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. Through investigative means, detectives found that the vehicle had been taken at around 8:30pm and parked at the wrong address just before midnight. Security footage from neighboring houses showed two suspects take the vehicle and then park it later.

On January 10, at around 10:30pm, deputies located three individuals in the Jack Peeples Community Park. Since this is after the park had closed, the individuals were questioned and photographs taken. Among the individuals interviewed was juvenile male Adam Giordano (09/15/2008).

The next day (January 11), deputies responded to another residence, this one on Pinewood Bend in reference to two subjects who attempted to enter the homeowner’s vehicle. The homeowner was able to provide the deputy with video of the incident, although the subjects were unable to gain entry to the vehicle. Through investigation and a neighborhood canvas, it was discovered that multiple other residents in the area had similar complaints, and one resident had reported his white Chevrolet Suburban had also been taken and returned. The man advised the vehicle had a full tank of gas and was clean when he parked it, but found it covered in mud and with less than a quarter of a tank of gas the next morning.

While conducting this investigation, detectives also learned of a commercial burglary in Lee County near that area. In that burglary, two suspects are seen breaking into a vape shop and stealing products. The pair then leave in the stolen white Chevrolet Suburban. One of the subjects in this case is seen wearing the same clothing that Giordano had been wearing when questioned the night before. The other suspect in the video, later identified as Justen Bowles (08/03/2007), is seen wearing the same clothing as in a video obtained during the neighborhood canvas as part of the investigation into the vehicle burglary.

Giordano was located and transported to the District 5 office, where he provided a full confession that he and Bowles committed the vehicle burglaries, vehicle thefts, and the Lee County crime.

“I want to thank my detectives for their diligence in these cases, as well as the community who shared video that assisted with determining who committed these crimes. These young men made a series of poor choices and have unfortunately created a reputation for themselves that will last for a long, long time. I hope that they are able to get their minds right immediately. I really don’t want to see two young men throw their lives away with nonsense like this.”

Sheriff Bill Prummell

Both subjects were arrested by Charlotte County detectives and will face additional charges in Lee County.
