As we work to implement the updated Unified Land Development Code (ULDC), we wanted to update residents, contractors and the development community on some areas of the new code that won’t be strictly enforced until July 1, 2027, due to limitations set by state law.

Two of these areas are:

▶️ Section 3.7.5. Detached Garages, Carports, Sheds, and Other Accessory Storage Structures. C. (2). The architectural design, character, style, and appearance of accessory storage structures exceeding 600 square feet, or visible from a public right-of-way shall be consistent and compatible with the primary structure.

➡️ Section 4.10.2. Dimensional Standards. A. Standard Parking Spaces. Parking spaces shall be a minimum of 10-feet wide and 20-feet long.

Voluntary compliance with these regulations is encouraged in advance of the effective date of July 1, 2027.
