Last night, two adult males, aged 32 and 50, were involved in an altercation at a rental property on Lido Key. Tragically, both individuals lost their lives as a result of the incident. The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victims, and we are in the process of notifying their families.
We want to emphasize that this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. All involved parties have been identified and accounted for.

We would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing death investigation near the 700 block of S. Boulevard of the Presidents on Lido Key. Sarasota Police responded to the area at approximately 9 a.m. after a death was reported. The Sarasota Police Department, alongside the Medical Examiner’s Office, has identified the two adult male victims involved in this incident. The victims are aged 32 and 50. We are in the process of notifying their next of kin.
We want to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident, and that there is no danger to the public. All involved parties have been identified and accounted for. The victims knew each other, and worked together. The investigation is active and ongoing, and we are working diligently to gather all relevant facts.
